ASSESSMENT
What do you think will happen to us in
the near future? It is so important for us to think of what we want to do with
our future. How we will manage our own lives. Here in the Philippines, we,
third year high school students were given examinations about what we are going
to take up in college. It is about what career are we going to have in the
future.
In this examination, we answer
questions about what are the things we enjoy doing. At this age, we should know
by now, the path that we are going to take. You have to think of a job that you
would want after studying. Will you enjoy doing this and that? That is an
important question regarding your future. You have to make sure that you like
what you are doing.
This examination is actually not
important, in my opinion. How sure are you if the student answered honestly?
Even though they want to take a course of their own like, there may be some
factors affecting their choices. Their choice may become different due to
different reasons. They may pick something they didn’t actually like, just
because their parents wanted to. If I were to say something, all these
examinations about career is not important, because it is up to the student to
follow what he/she really wants with her life. His/hers future will depend on
the student’s choice itself.
